Aldine Maier, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Friday Dec, 1, 2017. She was 85 at the time of her going to be with her Lord.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at the Assumption Catholic Church, Duncan with Father Peter Jandaczek officiating. Interment will follow at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.
Aldine Bergkamp was born in Dodge City, Kansas on Jan. 31, 1932 to Henry and Loretta (Gerber) Bergkamp. She attended St. Anthony grade school in Fowler, Kansas and high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita, Kansas. Upon graduating from high school she attended Sacred Heart Junior College in Wichita, earning a degree in medical technology. Aldine worked as a medical technologist in Wichita, Dodge City, Hill City, Kansas and at Duncan Regional Hospital until retiring in 1997.
On July 11, 1953 she married Walter Eugene (Gene) Maier. They had four children, Karen, David, Jerry and Bob. Walter passed away in 2006.
Aldine was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Duncan and a member of the Altar Society. She volunteered at Duncan Regional Hospital and the Duncan Food Pantry.
Aldine is survived by a daughter, Karen Blanton and husband Bill of Marlow, Oklahoma and three sons, Dave and wife Pam of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jerry and wife Brenda of Augusta, Kansas and Bob and wife Susan of Andover, Kansas; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law Rita Bergkamp of Fowler, Kansas, Betty Ferrante of Thousand Oaks, California, Shirley Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother-in-law, John (Jake) Maier and wife Betty of Manhattan, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bill Bergkamp.
In lieu of flowers, Aldine requested memorial donations be made to the Duncan Food Pantry at the Assumption Catholic Church 711 W. Hickory Ave Duncan, OK 73533.
