Billie Lee Thompson, 80, of Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Duncan Regional Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017 in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Marty Hodges officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Bill was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Holden, West Virginia, to Woodrow and Pearl Thompson and raised by Tony and Pearl Chaney. He served in the U.S. Army during the German Occupation, worked as an over the road truck driver for 18 years and retired from the City of Duncan as Supervisor of the Water Treatment Plant.
Bill Married Sharon Rose Prather on July 19, 1986, in Chanute, Kansas. He was an elder in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he enjoyed the fellowship of preaching door to door.
Bill is survived by his wife Sharon Rose Thompson; five children, Jock Thompson, Danita Pitts, Lesley Thompson-Edwards, Tina Fox, Teresa Harrel, Tammy Fisher, Tom Moody and Tim Moody; one brother, Ralph Thompson: three sisters, Alice, Sissy and Pat; 22 grandchildren and a host of other family and close friends.
