Billy Lynn Dewey, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, in Greenwood Village, Colorado, at the age of 89 years.
A memorial service with Military Honors is at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Dewey was born on April 3, 1927, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to William Erskin and Florence Marie (Deitz) Dewey. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1945 and joined the United States Army. After serving his country, Bill returned to his hometown to work in the family business. On Dec. 18, 1948, he married his high school sweetheart, Juanita Mitchell.
He owned and operated Dewey's Home Furnishings for over 40 years. Bill was an active member of the Elk's Golf and Country Club, Duncan Masonic Lodge #60, India Temple Shrine Club and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Dewey.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-eight years, Juanita of the home; one daughter, Debra Lytle and husband Lynn, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; one sister, Lela Hayes and husband Jerry, of Marlow, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Pat Lytle and wife Sarah, and Andy Lytle and wife Jessica, both of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; six great-grandchildren, Emma Lytle, Sophie Lytle, Claire Lytle, Cooper Lytle, Austin Lytle, and Taylor Lytle, all of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
