Billy Ray Keeney, 79, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home Monday, May 22, 2017.
A graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Duncan Cemetery with Dr. Brad McCoy officiating. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Bill was born on Nov. 21, 1937, to Helen and Leo Keeney in Lawton, Oklahoma. He attended school in Lawton, graduating from Lawton High School in 1955. He attended Cameron University in Lawton until 1957, and then attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a degree in Chemistry in 1959.
He married Linda Mathes on July 29, 1961, and she was his best friend and the love of his life for nearly 56 years. They had two children, Mike and Jill Keeney.
Bill worked for Red River Arsenal in Texarkana, Texas for several years prior to going to work for Halliburton Services In Duncan in 1963. He worked in the Chemical Research and Development Department in the area of corrosion research. He left Halliburton in 1983 and opened a corrosion testing service company in Duncan where he remained until his retirement in 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Keeney; his two children, Mike Keeney and his wife Kim and Jill Russell and her husband Mark; and a granddaughter, Gretchen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bob Keeney.
Bill was a wonderful loving husband and father to his family and now, he has entered the kingdom of God where he can be truly happy and free of disease.
