Billy Van Loring, 89,  of Duncan passed away on Saturday morning, Aug.12, 2017,  at his home surround by his family.
Services will be 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church West officiated by Rev. Randy Southerland.  Burial will follow in the Old Velma Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bill was born Oct. 19, 1927, at Velma, Oklahoma to William L. "Buck" and Imogene Loring.  He left High School early to join the Army, but received his diploma form Velma High School in 1986.  He married Bernice Bingham in April of 1948 and she preceded him in death in 2008.  He married Martha Frances Perkins on Dec. 6, 2008.  Bill worked for General American Oil for  33 years before becoming manager of Butkin Oil Co. in 1985.
Bill was an active member of the Velma and the Duncan Communities.  He had previously served on the Velma School board, the Velma Water Board, the board of directors of Red River Technology Center, the Board of Director of Citizens Bank in Velma and a member of New Hope Baptist Church West.  He was a 55 year member of the Lions Club and was instrumental in the design and building of the Wildhorse Golf Course in Velma.
Bill is survived by his wife Fran Loring of the home in Duncan.  Five children; Carolyn Kale of Thousand Palms, CA, Richard Loring and wife Tina of Broken Arrow, OK, Lill Smith and husband Steve of Duncan, OK,  Curt Owens and wife Brenda of Duncan, OK and Jamie Robinson and husband Rob of Duncan, OK.  Sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bernice, three brothers; Waylan, Gerald and Guy Loring and a daughter Melissa Owens.
Pallbearers will be Leo Stewart, Charles Jenkins, Lloyd Ely, Ronnie Peavler, Bill Alsobrook and Mickey Rowell.
Honorary bearers will be Guy Harlow, Ron Savage, Kenneth Maxwell, Johnny Eubanks and Skeet Chapman.
