Clemie's Story

Clemie Evelyn McGarr, 95, of Duncan, was born in Cole, Oklahoma, on May 28, 1921, to John Perry and Viola Priscilla (Key) Bowling. She passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017.
Family visitation will be on Thursday, March 23, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 24, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be at Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Clemie attended school in Velma. She married Eben C. McGarr on her 17th birthday, May 28, 1938. They had three daughters, Evelyn Jane, Barbara Ann, and Billie Jo. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, and loved to go camping. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Evelyn Jane and husband Jimmy Polk of Petal, Mississippi and Barbara Ann and husband Robert Davenport of Duncan; three grandchildren, Brenda and husband Billy McWilliams, Byron and wife Michelle Polk, and Blake and wife Michele Polk; five great-grandchildren, Chelle and husband Matt Langford, James and wife Lauren McWilliams, Lindsey, Ashton and Elijah Polk; two great-great-grandchildren, Neil and Conner Langford; and her special friend, Lynn Fawbush.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eben McGarr; her daughter, Billie Jo McGarr; her parents; her seven brothers and sisters; and her grandson, Ty Fawbush.
