Constance "Connie"'s Story
Constance Drew "Connie" Sanner, 86 of Duncan, OK passed away peacefully in Plano, TX with her children by her side on October 3, 2017.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 7, 2017 in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryan Pain officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery.
Connie was born May 22, 1931 in Marshall, Missouri and later moved to Duncan with her mother, Ora Vawter. She was a graduate of Duncan High School and a proud member of the 49ers. Throughout the years, she enjoyed attending many class reunions and spending time with her friends.
Connie married Burnis Sanner on November 14, 1953 and was a retiree from Halliburton after many years. She was a server of her community and took pride volunteering at the Compassion Center and delivering meals for the Delta Nutrition Center. She loved to have fun and kept her spirit young by participating in exercise class, dancing, book club and especially bowling and playing bridge.
Connie was an avid OU fan and enjoyed sports of all kinds. She was often seen showing off her team pride by wearing one of her many Sooner shirts. She was known to be funny and deeply loved her family and friends like no one else.
Connie is survived by her son, Brent Sanner of Norman, OK and daughters, Carla Sanner of Myrtle Beach, SC and Vicki Sanner of Plano, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Burnis Sanner, her mother, Ora Vawter and her father, Emory Vawter.
Pallbearers will be Josh McGee, Mark Mashburn, Cyrus McVey, Rick Wilson, Susan Thweatt and Lannie Adkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Simmons Center in Connie's name.
