Cris Alan Couch was born Sept. 23, 1951, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Charles Lawton and Lila Faye Couch and grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma. He died in Oklahoma City on Jan. 17, 2017. To describe Cris, you would have to say he is truly one-of-a-kind. He had a deep love for God and his family. He also had a passion for his country. This made him excellent at his career as a sales representative for the Betsy Ross Flag Girls. He was an absolute history buff, a diehard Sooners fan, and had an unbelievable interest in politics. Cris had a thirst for knowledge. This led him to chase after and obtain college education later in his life. On May 15, 1999, Cris earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Cris was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Sydney Couch. He is survived by his daughter, Kacy Himes and husband Artis L. Himes, II (AJ); a granddaughter, Kenedee Joy Himes; two sisters, Brenda Honore and husband Bruce and Debbie Burrows and husband Don; nieces, Clarissa Honore, Haven Grisham, and Sawyer Howard; a nephew, Barry Honore; as well as a sister-in-law, Leslie Simms and husband Tom. He will also be missed by many other family members and countless friends.
A service honoring his life will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Edmond's First Baptist Church under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
