Daschion Ray Scott Funeral Services for Daschion Ray Scott, age 32, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at New Hope Baptist ChurchWest (200 S. 42nd Street, in Duncan, Oklahoma, with Minister Tony Dean officiating. Pastor Jeremy Jackson, Beyond Church, Dallas, Texas will bring the euglogy.
DEATH/BURIAL. Daschion Ray Scott died on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Zanesville, Ohio. Burial will be in Henderson-Harris Cemetery in Duncan, OKunder the directions of Howard-Harris Funeral ServicesLawton.
He was born on January 22, 1986 o Charles Ray Walker, Jr., and Sonja Sheree Scott in Duncan, OK. He was raised by his grandparents: Cleo Hampton and Frances "B.B." Brown and Jimmy Brown. Accepting Christ early in life, he was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Ronald Boyd. He was active in the youth department, youth choir and Sunday school. He loved being around his pastor Reverend Boyd and elders of the church.
He was a member of Community Interested in Today's Youth (C.I.T.Y.). He graduated in 2005 having attended Duncan Public Schools from kindergarten through high school. He excelled academically and participated in sports including football, track and field. Football was his most prized sport and he received several awards, honors and medals. His accomplishments on the field earned him accolades from the press. He loved Sooner football and grained recognition of a "star athlete". After high school he attended Red River Vocational School of Technology and worked in many food establishments in Duncan.
Daschion loved life and his family. He always had a smile on his face and would light up the room with his presence. His untimely passing shook the very core of the Duncan and surrounding communities. He married Shamear Newberry on June 24, 2017. He fathered two beautiful daughters Janaiya and La"Teiya. He was a member of Stone Chapel C.M.E. Church under the leadership of Pastor Timothy McGee where he was a faithful member. He was a member of several social clubs including Young Generation and Men in Black. He was employed by Tilley Oil and Trucking of Duncan, OK and worked as a Oil Pressure Tester.

His wife, Shamear of the home; his daughters: Janaiya and La'Teiya; his mother, Sonja Scott, of Duncan, OK; his father, Charles Ray Walker, Jr., of Texas; two (2) brothers: Tavaris Scott (Jamie) of Shawnee, OK; Joshua Barber, of Duncan, OK; two (2) sisters: Erica McFadden (Juan) of Oklahoma City, OK, Tenisha Barber of Tulsa, OK; his grandmother, Cleo Hampton of Duncan, OK; his grandfathers: Jimmy Brown of Duncan, OK, Earl J. Hooks of Tatums, OK and Charles Ray Walker, Sr., of Dallas, TX; his aunts and uncles: Bruce Mayfield, James Johnson, Byron Mayfield (Tonya), Tonjla Dean (Tony) of Duncan, OK, Chris McGee (Shelley) of Lawton, OK, Ronnie Mayfield (Kandy) of Dallas, TX, Percy Mayfield of Longview, TX; several special aunties, uncles, great aunts, uncles in the community; special cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances "B.B." Brown.
