David was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Gordon and Arline Buntley Oct. 30, 1944.
He married his lovely wife of 50 years, Jane Hendrix Buntley in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on July 3, 1966.
He attended Oklahoma Christian University, met his helpmate Jane and graduated with a bachelor of science in 1966.
He worked as medical technologist at Mercy Hospital before attending the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, graduating with his medical doctorate in 1970. He chose to serve his country while in medical school with his highest rank as Lieutenant Colonel in the Army from 1970-1979. During that time he completed a fellowship specializing in urology.
His service included Fitzsimmons, Colorado, and Fort Sill, Oklahoma, before choosing Duncan, Oklahoma, as a place to settle his family and start his own medical practice. He loved working with the Duncan Regional Hospital and served in many leadership capacities. He was proud to be a part of the Duncan medical community.
He loved to fly. He obtained his private pilots license in 1965. He had the pleasure of owning his own plane. He loved to "poke holes in the clouds" and use this blessing to help so many.
He and Jane were faithful members and servants of Chisholm Trail Church of Christ.
He loved to laugh and he loved to tell jokes, he even has a box of jokes with small papers with just the punch line. He loved to make others smile.
