David Ross O'Neal, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born Dec. 29, 1945, in Bartlesville to Jack and Novella O'Neal. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at the age of 70, with his family by his side.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
David graduated from Duncan High School in 1965. He joined the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. He furthered his education at Red River Technology Center and obtained his welding certification. He was employed as a welder at Halliburton for 15 years and at Serva for 7 years.
David married Roberta Askins on July 31, 1970, in Duncan. They had one son, Sean.
David enjoyed playing golf and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roberta; his son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Jennifer O'Neal; five grandchildren, Jason O'Neal, Braydon O'Neal, Colton Knox and Corey and wife Stephanie Hamilton, all of Duncan, and Dalton and wife Chelsea Knox of Texas; one great-grandchild, Tynsley Knox; his brothers-in-law, Arthur Edwards, Stefan and Becky Askins, and Vernon Hunt; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his dog who was his constant companion, "Lil-man".
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth O'Neal; his sister, Betty Edwards; and his dog, "Lacey".
