David Lynn Riley was born Nov. 21, 1953, in Marlow, to J.R. and Lillian Riley. He passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 7:15 p.m., at the age of 63.
A memorial service is being held on May 6, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Redbud Park in Marlow, OK.
David attended public schools in Duncan. After school he served in the USMC and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal 1970-71 and in the Army Reserves until 1979. After his honorable discharge, he worked for many places in and around Duncan from the oilfield to helping the environment. He worked at Halliburton, Duncan Water Works, street department, aka Super Dave and Lawton waste water treatment plant. He held a Class B waste and water certification and air conditioning and refrigeration.
David Riley lived a free life and helped raise many people. He married our mother, Mona I. Landis, on June 17, 1982. From there is the time David spent raising us and helping us see right and wrong. He was always there for Family, blood or not. He loved listening to all kinds of music, Rock 'n' Rock 60s to now. His best friend is Jayneen Botkin. Watching Wheel of Fortune was one of the many things they loved to do.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny G. Riley.
He is survived by his wife, Mona I. Riley; three children, Brian Maddox, Brande and Jimmy Stephens, Bradley and Barbara Maddox; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; his uncle, Elbert Riley; his aunt, Thelma Williams; cousins, Bart Riley and Beth Davis; and numerous other relatives.
