David Lynn Westfall, 66, of Duncan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Duncan, Oklahoma.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Ray of Hope Church with Pastors Mike McCord and Dow Pannell officiating. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
David was born Aug. 22, 1950, to Henry E. and Bessie (Knight) Westfall. He graduated from Wynnewood High School, received his Masters from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and worked as a grade school counselor and coach. Through the years, as a counselor he touched the lives of many children in a positive way and showed that they were loved.
David married Linda McElreath on Sept. 25, 1993, and together they made Duncan home. He enjoyed softball, fishing and woodworking and he and Linda were members of the Ray of Hope Church.
David is survived by his wife Linda of the home, a sister Karen Westfall, two nieces; Megan Melendez and husband Saul of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Kari Beavers of Austin, Texas. One nephew; Brian Beavers of Austin, Texas, two grand nieces; Kesleigh and Lexi Kate Melendez and one grandnephew Tucker Andrews all of Ardmore, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Bessie Westfall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stephens County Humane Society.
