Denise Louise Marshall, age 58, and resident of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 28, 2017, at home in Moore. A family private grave side memorial was held at 2 p.m. March 4, 2017, at the grave of her daughter, where her remains were placed.
Denise was born on April 15, 1958, in Borger, Texas of her parents Kenneth and Vonnie Updike.
Denise and Henry Marshall were unified in marriage on May 1, 1982 in Amarillo, Texas. They had two children, Jennifer Renee and Erick Brian.
Denise retired from Halliburton with 33 years of service. In retirement, she enjoyed working in the flower gardens, liked family gatherings and adored being around her grandchildren. In recent years, she enjoyed camping and riding her scooter around the camping areas. Denise was a tutor with Whiz Kids of Oklahoma City and loved seeing her tutored child excel in school. She was an active member of the Alameda Church of Christ in Norman, Oklahoma. She enjoyed her Classics Sunday class, helping with special events, and cooking/sharing her famous cinnamon rolls for her Life group.
Survivors include her husband, Henry; son, Erick, and wife, Sarah, of Corn, Oklahoma; her mother Vonnie Updike of Dallas, Texas; brothers Kenny Updike and wife Lisa of Louisville Kentucky, Andy Updike and wife Renee of Forney Texas, Jeff Updike of Dallas Texas; sister Vicki Updike of Dallas. Step-daughter Elisha Knie and husband John; grandchildren, Brian Marshall, Emmalee Marshall, Collin Marshall, Leabella Marshall, James Marshall, and Lily Marshall. Step-grandchildren, Haley Knie, Chelsea Knie, and Megan Knie. Nieces: Sara Flanagan, Brooke Updike, Olivia Updike. Nephews: Tracy Updike, Willem Updike, Han Updike, and Jason Ganaway.
Denise was preceded in death by her Daughter Jennifer (Marshall) Sides and her father Kenneth Updike.
