Earl's Story

Earl Parker Smith, or "Pappy" as he was known, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 22, 2018. He was 62 years old. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 25th at 3:00 p.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mike McCord officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.

Parker was born August 17, 1955 in El Paso, TX to Howard Dean and Earla Lee (Prentiss) Smith. He came to Comanche in 1992, moving here from Albuquerque, NM. Parker was a self-employed truck driver for many years, beginning when he was 17 years old. He loved NASCAR racing, camping, outdoor activities, including driving off road vehicles. His greatest joy came from being with his family, especially the grandchildren. He absolutely loved spending time with them all. Parker went out of his way to help people. He loved seeing people smile. He and Sharrell were united in marriage on April 6, 2009 in Marietta, (Love County) Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife Sharrell, of the home; his children: Alexis Smith, Stormy Smith, Sara Smith, and H.D. Smith; his step-children, Kim Webb, Amy Webb, Brian Webb, and Chris Webb; his sisters: Scarlet Thompson and husband Mike, Brenda Williams and husband Terry, and Sharon Smith; his nephews, Big H.D. Smith, John McDevitt, and Wayne McDevitt; along with many other nieces and nephews; nineteen grandchildren: Brinkley, Hannah, Blake, Jack, Colton, P.J. Jonathan, Lane, Faith, Parker, Wyatt, Stone, Emma, Austin, Evan, Jaxson, Jemma, Cooper, and Jerric. Also a countless number of other relatives and very dear friends.
