Ellen D. Ensminger, 85, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Duncan surrounded by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Bylerly officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 24th from 5:00 to 7:00pm
Ellen was born June 5, 1932 at Lawrence, Oklahoma to William E. and Edna (Cooper) Roberts. She graduated from Wewoka High School, Wewoka, Oklahoma. She worked for the Lillian Russell Dress Factory in Wewoka for 10 years. When she moved to Duncan, she went to work for AOA in Marlow for about 5 years and later became a caregiver for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and doing her needle work.
She married Billy John Ensminger on December 24, 1950 in Wewoka. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2014.
Ellen is survived by two children, Debra Matlock of Anadarko, Oklahoma and Darrell Wayne Ensminger and fiance' Cindy Boldt of Duncan; two grandchildren, Deetra Stallings and husband Delbert, Jeremy Matlock and wife Jamie; and three great grandchildren, Tyler Matlock, Joshua Matlock and Jillian Matlock; one sister-in-law, GwenTilley of Wewoka and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Billie; and a son-in-law, Jimmie Matlock
Pallbearers will be Tyler Matlock, Sam Holthe, Keith Tilley, Lyle Mooney, Ervin Howard and Delbert Stallings.
