Esther Marie Eager, 95, of Midwest City, Oklahoma and former resident of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Landmark Nursing Home in Midwest City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 9, 2018 at Duncan Cemetery with Mike Mazzalongo officiating. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM prior to the service.
Esther Marie Menser was born on June 24, 1923 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to James Robert Menser and Katie Cora (Hanners) Menser. Esther graduated Shawnee High School. She married the love of her life Vane E. Eager on November 11, 1940 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Esther was a strong Christian and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She provided well for and took care of her family, and loved them dearly and always kept in touch with them.
Esther was a former member of the First Methodist Church of Duncan and she was a member a Duncan Bridge Club. She loved to volunteer at her church and also volunteered at Duncan Regional Hospital.
Esther is survived by her two loving children, Ronald E. Eager and his wife Diane of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Barbara K. Radcliffe and her husband John of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Vane E. Eager; her parents; James and Katie Menser; her brothers; Joseph Menser, Edward Menser, Amos Menser, Melvin Menser, Alvin Menser; her sisters, Ida May Klander, Iva Mae Sublett, Florence Elizabeth Harrison, and Geneva Pearl Menser.
Honorary Bearers are Stephen Eager, David Eager, John Eager, Ronald Eager, and John Radcliffe.
