Freddie Ray Tilley Sr., of Marlow, Oklahoma, was born Dec. 24, 1944, in Duncan, to John Doyle and Anna Belle (Williams) Tilley. He passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the age of 72.
Family visitation will be on Monday, May 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Whitt Funeral Home.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, May 2, at 1 p.m. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Andrew Haire officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Freddie attended schools in Comanche. He was employed in a variety of jobs; he was a letter carrier in Comanche, worked on the north shore of Alaska and, while living in Louisiana, he worked on offshore drilling rigs. He also worked for the last 30 plus years for Sonny's Tank Trucks in Velma.
He enjoyed fishing at Lake Texoma and at the Red River. He loved watching his grandkids play in sports. He was a very generous man with a very big heart for his family and friends.
He was first married on Feb. 2, 1963, to Karen Grimm Tilley. To this union, his three children, Freddie, Stacy, and Tracy, were born. He later met Betty Payne in 1986 and together they spent 27 years until her passing.
He is survived by his children, Freddie Ray Tilley Jr. and his wife Cindy, of Velma, Stacy Stevens and her husband Scott, of Greenville, Texas, and Tracy Lovelace, of Lynn Haven, Florida; his grandchildren, Tiffany Rakett and her husband Steven, Kyle Tilley and his wife Kaylee, Sean Stevens, and Heather Davis and her husband Jon; his great-grandchildren, Berklee Rakett, Leo Tilley, Riley Davis, Ashe Davis, and Elise Davis; his brothers, Jerry Tilley and his wife Michelle, and Ricky Tilley and his wife Lynn; his sisters, Kaye Easter and her husband Ron, and Janice Schumacher; his stepchildren, Tammy Lake, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Tracy Payne, of Boyd, Texas, Kelly Michelle and Kimberly McDevitt, both of Duncan; his step-grandchildren, Brian Lake, Dr. Rebecca Vessel and her husband Matt, Jeff Lake and his wife Rachel, Michelle Lake, Scott Payne and his wife Kofee, Jason Payne and his wife Hope, Dustin McDevitt, and Cody McDevitt; and his step great-grandchildren, Kaiden Lake, Olivia Lake, Destiny Lake, Chris Payne, Wade Payne, and Taylor Payne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Tilley, and two sisters, Winnie Radino and Patsy White.
