Greyson Cole Caldwell was born January 8, 2017 OU Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City. Greyson passed away on Sunday September 10, 2017 held in the loving arms of his mother and with his family by their side.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike King officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery. Services are under the care of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard. Greyson loved to watch his mobile, chew on his Mickey, and receiving his choo-choo (breathing) treatment. He was good at kicking his pulse oximeter off his toe and throwing a fit when not having his way - he usually just wanted to be held. He enjoyed blowing his nose bubbles, except when they were wiped away. He liked listening to country music with his nurses; his favorites were Johnny Cash and George Jones. His favorite food was dum-dums, especially the orange flavored ones. He hated getting ready for baths and was always happy when it was over.
Greyson is survived by his mother, Kaitlin Caldwell of Duncan; grandparents, Angela Copeland of Duncan and Chris Caldwell of Dallas, Texas; great-grandparents, Burl and Lola Copeland of Duncan, Robin Caldwell of Duncan and Jody and Jeanie Caldwell of Lawton; great-great-grandfather Earl Caldwell of Duncan; aunt and uncle, Madison Caldwell and Johnathan Caldwell; numerous cousins and other relatives. He also leaves behind two of his favorite nurses, Teri Townsend of Norman and Tara Puckett of Edmond. Greyson is preceded in death by his great-great-grandparents, John and Bonnie Davidson of Duncan, James and Thelma Smith of Duncan, Andrew and Josephine Copeland of Duncan and Wilma Caldwell of Duncan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center NICU, March of Dimes, or the Ronald McDonald House of Oklahoma City in memory of Greyson.
