Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, February 2, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, Duncan with the Rev. Dr. Matt Meinke officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.
Jack was born March 29, 1927 to Helen Louise (Bryan) and William Tracy Munn in Tulsa, OK. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army and stationed in Italy. Jack married the love of his life, Mary Ann Miller on May 31, 1957 in Duncan, OK. He was a longtime active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Duncan.
Jack graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 1951 with a bachelors degree in Education and a Masters in Mathematics. He began his teaching career in Noble, OK and moved to Duncan in August of 1951 where he taught math and algebra at Duncan Junior High for 33 ½ years. During his time as a teacher Jack also coached the golf team for a few years.
His surviving family members include his brother, James K. Munn of Spring, TX; his nephews, Robert Preston Munn of Spring, TX, Richard William Munn of The Woodlands, TX and Jeff Daniel Munn of Denver, CO and their families; his extensive "chosen family": Mary Ann's surviving relatives, Leona and Gale Hufstutler and children, Karen and Terry Lucarelli and their son, Jeremy, Walter Herrin, Lloyd Simmons and his wonderful church family, other family members and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Reed; and his wife, Mary Ann Munn, Aug. 7, 1998.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Mike Grantham, Marlin Holtmyer, Chris Zimmerman, Mike Steil, Steve Reasor, and Chip Woods.
