Jeffrey "Jeff"'s Story
Jeffrey Wayne "Jeff" Sanders, a longtime Comanche resident, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at his home east of Comanche. He was 56 years old. A funeral service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Ray of Hope Church, with Pastor's Mike McCord and Dow Pannell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday 9 a.m.to 6:30 p.m. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Jeff was born Sept. 25, 1960, in Boulder City, Nevada, to Al and Betty (Griner) Sanders.
He and his family came to Comanche in 1973 from Alvin, Texas. He was a 1979 graduate of Comanche High School, where he excelled in sports. He and Bandy Normile were united in marriage on Dec. 31, 1987. Jeff loved hunting, fishing, golfing, football, playing games, and "fixing things". He was always "thrashing and slaving". More than anything else, Jeff loved his family. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren so much.
He was a likeable man, always laughing, and always with a smile on his face.
He is survived by his wife Bandy, of the home; his children, Candesse Minor and husband Aaron, Duncan; Zacrey Sanders, Houston, Texas; and Cassi Sanders, Comanche; his two brothers, Jimmy Sanders and wife Tammy, Comanche and Robert Sifford and wife Mary, Silver Creek, Washington; one sister, Sandra McNolty and husband Jesse, Santa Paula, California; two grandchildren, Ayli and Addi Minor; a brother-in-law Tony Normile and wife Kim, Lone Grove, OK ; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Dobbins and husband Chris, Coby Normile, Stephanie Susan and husband Todd, Hali Overturf and husband Aaron, Bobby Ruth and wife Wendy, and Madison Normile; and many other relatives and countless friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Bob Jennings, Randy Gardenhire, Brad Throckmorton, Brian Stogsdill, Robbie Graham, Randy Downey, and Reggie Minter. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Jeff's fishing, hunting, and golfing buddies.
