Jimmie Doyle Jennings, age 76 of Marlow, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2017.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1940, in Lawton Oklahoma to Verda (Wade) Jennings and Vernon Jennings.
He joined the Army at the age of 18. He completed three tours for a total of eight years. He served in the Vietnam Era and was a Wartime Veteran. After finishing his military service he drove a Semi truck until he retired.
Jimmie was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He enjoyed working in his garden, studying the Bible and visiting with friends. His time spent with his oldest brother Lee, was precious to him during his last year. He loved watching the great grandkids play t-ball and giving his grandkids a hard time.
He was ready to help anyone in need. He had a very kind heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Verda Jennings, two Brothers, Donald Jennings, Murriel Jennings and two sisters Virigina Dexter, and Bobbie Biggs.
He is survived by two brothers Lee Jennings of Marlow, Ok and Daniel Jennings of Mesquite Texas, several nieces and nephews.Seven Children: Carla Sanelma, Dominican Republic,Candace Scarale Gardner MA, Robert Novotny Jacksonville FL, Kristie Anderson, Duncan Ok., Rebecca Robinson, Marlow, Ok., Jimmie (J.B.) Jennings, Marlow, Ok. and Laura Pospech Duncan, Ok.;16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held graveside at Highland Cemetery 2201 N.W. Ft. Sill Blvd, Lawton Ok. on May 2, 2017, at 10 a.m.
Flowers may be sent to the cemetery the day of the service. Donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
