Jimmy "James"'s Story
Jimmy "James" Hice, 60, of Duncan, passed away January 10, 2017.
James was born on January 5, 1957 in Wellston Oklahoma to the late James and Elva (Payne) Hice, their only son. He married Donna Prince on February 26, 1975 in Oklahoma City.
James enlisted in the Navy in 1974 when he was only 17 and was awarded numerous medals for his marksmanship skills. He was a flooring contractor until he retired in 2010. James went on to receive his Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Cameron University.
James is survived by his wife, Donna, daughter Jamie, son Christopher and his wife, Colleen along with their children Hannah, Ethan, Emma, and Hayden. All are from Duncan. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces as well as his sisters, Sharon Johnson and Tracy Chase.
James loved his wife, his children and his daughter by marriage, Colleen, but he absolutely adored his grandchildren. They were the light of his life and his proudest legacy. His Hannah banana was his first and number one granddaughter. He took great pride in her art and loved her smile. He loved gaming with his handsome grandson, Ethie, and talking about "The Game". His birthday twin, Emmie, was his 50th birthday present. He always said that once you get a person for your birthday there was nothing else left to get. She had a special place in her Papa's heart. His youngest grandson, HayHay, gave him the most laughs with his personality and his conversation. He loved golfing and going for walks around the neighborhood with them. James was a good husband, father, and father-in-law, but he was an exceptional grandpa. He will be missed by all, but especially by his grandchildren
