Joshua Paul Lawson, 61, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 28, 2017, in Moore, OK.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at the Don Grantham Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronny Bernard officiating. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Paul was born in Oklahoma City, OK on Sept. 29, 1955 to S. P. Lawson and Maxine Elizabeth Lawson (Shaw). It was our good fortune that he found his way to the Duncan area. Paul was a good, dependable employee with Think Ability of Duncan and enjoyed the accomplishments of a good day's work. He enjoyed going to the movies on Sunday with his sister Maggie and enjoying playing Bingo with Maggie on Saturdays.
He had the opportunity to have many work experiences, and developed a work ethic that led to him being awarded a Governor's Disability Employment Award presented by the then Lt. Governor Jari Askins in October 2009. Paul was a proud participant of the Special Olympics and received many ribbons and medals. Paul was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. Paul was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Doug Connally. Paul is survived by his sisters, Maggie Thompson, of Duncan, Oklahoma, Linda Connally, of Pickton, Texas; and a nephew, Corey Connally of Pickton, Texas.
