Kenneth Wayne Golay

Kenneth Wayne Golay Kenneth Wayne Golay, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born Nov. 25, 1934, to Floyd L. and Annie Weatherford Golay in Manitou. He passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, in Duncan at the age of 82.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel, with Bob Brian officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Kenneth graduated from Marlow High School. He met and married Jerri Ann Bowen in Marlow. To that union two children were born, Jeff and Deborah. Jerri preceded him in death in 1972. He later met and married Mary Deas. She also preceded him in death in 2011.
Kenneth began his career at Duncan Equipment and then Western Welding Supply. He later partnered with Bob Brian to start Starlite Enterprise. Together Kenneth and Bob patented three inventions, a magnetic pipe template, the Mag Guard and a cylinder stop roll. In 1991, they opened a retail welding supply business at 506 South Industrial Drive in Duncan, called Starlite Welding Supply, Inc. Kenneth later purchased Bob's half and ran the business with his wife Mary and son Jeff.
He enjoyed the morning crowd that ate breakfast at Braum's every Sunday. Kenneth enjoyed working at the family owned business and visiting with his numerous customers. You could never leave the store without hearing one of Kenneth's stories. He also enjoyed purchasing land and making site improvements. He purchased tractors and equipment, a backhoe and a 4-wheel drive Sky Trac for such purpose. He was also a big supporter of all the local schools.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Golay and his fiancée, Grace Barrett, of Marlow, and his step-daughter, Tracey Price of Rowlett, Texas.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Jerri Golay and Mary Golay; and his daughter, Deborah Lynn Golay.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's name to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to any cancer associations.
