Lorella Ann Thompson, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away from her earthly home into her eternal Home on Friday evening, Dec. 16, 2016, in Duncan. She was 76 years old.
A funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Corum Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to noon.
Ann was born April 17, 1940, in Athens, Texas, to Oliver Frank and Cleo Opal (Pierce) McAlister. She and her family came to Comanche in 1944. They moved several times, but she always considered Comanche to be her home. She owned Sooner Tax Service from 1977 through 2014. Ann loved to read, watch mystery shows, play solitaire and spend time with her grandchildren. She loved her pets, her dogs: Katy Mae and Chi Chi, and her cats: Kasey and Koe.
Survivors include her three children, Jeannee Collinsworth, Comanche; Jim Thompson, Comanche; and David Thompson, Comanche; six grandchildren, Justin, Baleigh, Davy, Doug, Deanna and Michelle; and four great-grandchildren: Kaden, Kamren, Kasen, and Kynlea; her former husband, Wayne Thompson, Comanche; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, E.F. "Porky" McAlister and one granddaughter, Bridget.
