Loretta Lera Howell, 100, of Duncan, OK passed away Wednesday February 7, 2018 at her home in Duncan.
Services will be 10:00am Monday February 12, 2018 at the Ray of Hope Church, Comanche, OK with Pastor Mike McCord officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.
Loretta Lera Lewis was born June 27, 1917 in Decatur, TX to Emma Ivie (Shaw) and Boone Lewis. She married Leo Howell on Sept. 16, 1933 in Duncan.
Loretta was a member of Ray of Hope Church. She enjoyed working, bowling, gardening, picking up pecans and raising cattle.
Survivors include a sister, Ruby Ballard and husband Wiley, two sons, Wayne Howell and wife LaRue and Kent Howell and wife Judy; grandsons: Rick Howell, Rusty Howell, Tracy Howell and wife Betty, Jerry Lynn Howell and wife Nancy, Bret Howell and wife Tracy and Kurt Howell and granddaughters: Kristi Howell, Shana Grubbs and husband G. and Shelly Apple; ten great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ivie and Boone Lewis; her husband, Leo Howell; four brothers: George C. Lewis, Mutt Lewis, J.D. Lewis and Virgil Lewis; two sisters: Veta Bell Eaton and Audrey Duncan; two sons: Jerry Howell and Larry Howell; a grandson: Bobby Deaton; and a great grandson: Brandon Reese.
The family will visit with friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
