Marie was born to Lonnie May (Wall) Garner and Jerry Garner on May 10, 1930. Marie loved trapshooting, volunteering, teaching children of all ages, reading, bowling and baking breads and tea rings. In 2013 Marie received the Stephens County Lifetime Volunteer of the Year Award. As a shooting sports pioneer she helped establish 4H shooting sports in the state of Oklahoma. Marie and her beloved husband Jack were the first couple inducted into the Oklahoma Trapshooting Hall of Fame. Marie was a longtime member and past president of both the Eastern Star and the Extension Homemakers Club. She was also a member of the 99's, an organization for women pilots. She was a 4-H leader for 50 years. Most recently Marie enjoyed reading and visiting with the preschool children at Golden Oaks. "Marie was a great woman that gave her time and heart to so many people, she made a difference in many lives."
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Jack Ketchum, brother Troy Garner, sister Maxine Hyatt, her parents, and her fur son "Hank of the home".
Marie's family includes two daughters Linda Ketchum (Bill Stupp) and Jacklyn Shenold (George Shenold); brother Don Garner (Twilla); four grandchildren Scott Shenold (Amy), Jill Rice (Joe), Stacy Riley (Eddie), and Lisa Courter (Scott); four nephews Leonard Ketchum (June), David Ketchum, Dallas Ketchum, and Roger Ketchum (Lauri); and eight great-grandchildren.
