Mary's Story

Mary Magdalene Long, 87, went to be with her Savior Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 in Duncan.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at First Assembly of God in Rush Springs with the Rev. Lonnie Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Mary was born Thursday,  Jan. 16, 1930, in Rush Springs to John Wesley and Mary Alice Bratcher. She attended Rush Springs High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her class. She later married the love of her life, Marcelles Lee Long, May 27, 1951, in Rush Springs. The couple made their home in Rush Springs where they raised their family. Mary proudly worked for Rush Springs Schools for over 20 years. She adored her work and the people there. Her hobbies included reading, shopping and spending time with family. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was her source of hope and strength and she was looking forward to His return daily. Mary was a member of First Assembly of God in Rush Springs.
Survivors include, daughter, Marca LaRon Long Johnson and husband William, of Rush Springs; grandchildren, Reggie Lee Long, of Rush Springs, Joshua Johnson, of Rush Springs and Christopher Long and wife Laura, of Rush Springs. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Skyler  Long, Ethan Long, Caitlin Long, Emily Long,  Elijah Johnson, Ensley Long, Gracen Johnson, Easton Long and Everson Long due in March. Sister, Allene Stahl of The Village and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Mary was preceded in death by husband, Marcelles Lee Long; son, Reggie Dale Long; great-grandchild, Bailey Cheyenne Long; her parents; brothers, Dewey  Bratcher, Clarance Bratcher, A.A. "Hoot" Bratcher, Raymond Bratcher, Herman "Pat" Bratcher, Paul Bratcher, and Thomas Ray Bratcher; sisters, Daisy McGuire, Lillie McGuire, Lorene Blay and Goldie Meadows.
Pallbearers are Shawn Haskins, David Meadows, James Flick, Rod Headley, Billy Pate and Leland Dalrymple.
Honorary Pallbearers are Skyler Long, Ethan Long, Elijah Johnson, Easton Long and Kody McMcKay.
