Maxine Lorene Pauline Miller, 91, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, in Marlow.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with the Rev. Jerry Couch officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Maxine was born Thursday, Oct. 22, 1925, in Greenville, Missouri, to George Washington and Grace Ellen Snodgrass. She attended school in Wayne County, Missouri. She later married Elvin Gerald Miller in Metropolis, Illinois. They made their home in Sherman, Texas. They owned and operated a restaurant for over 30 years. The couple raised four children together. Elvin preceded Maxine in death.
She relocated to Marlow in 2015 to be nearer family. Her hobbies included the VA, cooking, cleaning and taking care of her grandchildren. Maxine found great joy in telling her grandchildren stories. She was also a member of the Church of Christ in Sherman, Texas. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include, son, Gerald Eugene Miller, of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Joy Ann Welch and husband Larry, of Marlow; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elvin Miller; her parents; sons, Martin Wayne Miller and Martin Miller; grandsons, Gene Miller Jr. and Shane Miller. Maxine is also preceded in death by eight siblings.
