Norma's Story

Norma Jean Ward, 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow with the Rev. Gene Ray Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Norma was born on Jan. 30, 1933, in Rush Springs to Emory and Verdie Pierce. She attended Rush Springs Schools and graduated with the class of 1952. Norma married the love of her life, James Clark Ward. They married in June 1954 and made their home in Marlow.
Together they raised their family. She lived in the Marlow area until 2015 moving to Tennessee to be with her son and daughter in law and granddaughter and her family.
Norma worked for Otasco in Chickasha, and Duncan for 28 years. She retired in 1980. After retiring from Otasco, she went to work for the County Courthouse in the Clerk's office. She worked there for 18 years and then she retired. Norma loved her work and made many lasting friendships with co-workers and customers. She loved everyone she met and everyone she met loved her.
Most importantly she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and awaited his return. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Tennessee.
She is survived by her son Monty and his wife Mary of Winchester, Tennessee. Her beloved granddaughter Allison Lynch and husband Tony, of Tennessee, and three great-grandsons Kade, Korbyn and Jamison.
Norma joins in Heaven, her husband James Clark Ward; her brother, Donald Pierce and his wife Ora Faye Pierce, and her parents Emory and Verdie Pierce.
Pallbearers are Ric Ward, Jimmy Dial, Brent Ward, Kent Ward, Gary Bill Goree and Brian Ward.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Ward, Joe Dial, Wayne Ward, Rex Dial and David Ward.
