Pat Wayne Morgan, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away Tuesday evening, July 18, 2017 in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 83 years old. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 21 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Duncan, with Bro. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan City Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m.
Pat was born Feb. 17, 1934, east of Comanche, to Ira S. and Gladys (Keenan) Morgan. He was a farmer and rancher all of his life. He enjoyed working with his horses and cattle. Pat also enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his loved ones at family gatherings.
Survivors include his three children: Brent Morgan and wife Ann, Duncan; Lisa Taylor and husband Clif, Comanche; and Faron Morgan and wife Jolene, Comanche; six grandchildren: Jennifer Hankins, Rhonda Johnson, Rene Shelby, Josh Morgan, Amanda Kelnhofer, and Kayla Clements; twelve great grandchildren; also his special friend, Johnnie Clinger, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bill Morgan., and the mother of his children, Nelda Morgan.
Serving as pallbearers will be Pat's grandchildren and grandchildren in-law: Josh Morgan, Jacob Hankins, Wes Johnson, Kolby Shelby, Adam Clements, and Aaron Morgan. Honorary bearers will be Sam English, J.D. Keenan, Garrett Copeland, Harris Powers and Don Taylor.
