Patricia Marie Cooper, 77, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Wellington Park Assisted Living Center in Del City, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan with David Cooper officiating. Funeral services are under the care of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Patricia Marie Cooper was born on April 7, 1940 in Prescott, Arkansas to William Foster Andrews and Jessie Beatrice Andrews (Tutor). Tricia met and married the love of her life Melvin Cooper on May 3, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2010. Tricia was a student at multiple colleges, she loved to study and learn. She eventually earned her PhD in Bible Theology in 1994 at the Marlow Missionary Baptist College. Tricia had worked in many different fields throughout her life, one of her longest and favorite careers was being a Cosmetologist. She worked many years as a licensed cosmetologist and went on to earn her instructors license and taught cosmetology at Elite Academy and Red River Technology Center both in Duncan. Patricia also found great joy in owning, grooming and training dogs. She attended New Hope Baptist Church in Duncan, Oklahoma and was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her two children, Catherine Cooper of Midwest City, Oklahoma; David Cooper and wife Jackie of Marlow, Oklahoma; her five grandchildren, Andree Duckworth of Midwest City, OK; Justin Cooper and wife Sydney of Sherman, TX; Blake Cooper of Duncan, OK; Landry Cooper and Melissa Cooper of Marlow, OK; three great grandchildren, Phoenix Splawn and Aurora Splawn of Midwest City and Imogene Cooper of Sherman, TX, niece Michelle Stewart of Norman, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Cooper, her sister Sharon Sue Oldaker and her parents.
