Quetha Charlene Terrill was born March 9, 1935 to H.A. "Jack" and Laurada Terrill on the family farm in Burneyville, Oklahoma. She attended school in Marietta, Oklahoma, where she was involved in many extracurricular activities such as: Class Officer, FFA, Basketball and Cheerleading.
She married Charles "Lyndall" Stewart on May 9, 1953. They moved to Duncan, Oklahoma in 1956, where she raised five children and made a lasting impression on many of the kids running the neighborhood. Quetha and Lyndall shared a passion for gardening and caring for many animals. As well as... a friendly competition of Wheel of Fortune and Classic Tetris. The couple devoted their lives to one another and built a lifetime of everlasting love.
Quetha was a wife, mother and "Nannie". She was the definition of a family matriarch. She led by example of unconditional love and untapped stubborn strength. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen. She had a knack for homemade pickles and salsa, which she loved a little spicier than most. She loved sewing and quilting and she often bestowed her hand crafted treasures upon her family. She had an eye for fashion and a slight addiction to shoes. At Christmas she was truly one of a kind, especially with her upside down Christmas tree.
She found strength and unwavering faith in God Almighty. She attended Highland Park Baptist Church in Duncan, and always beamed with pride when her family filled several pews. She dedicated her hands and her heart to compassionately serve the Lord.
As her health declined she was lovingly embraced and cared for by the committed staff at Elks Crossing Nursing & Rehabilitation and Chisholm Trail Hospice.
Survivors include four of her children, daughters: Zoa Riley and husband Mike of Duncan, Tonya Whitten and husband Andy of Waverly, Kansas and Shannon Cook and husband Mike of Comanche, Oklahoma, a son, Scott Stewart and wife Michelle of Norman, Oklahoma, and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl James and husband Ray of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ruby Simpson and husband Bill of Hennepin, Oklahoma and Michelle Elmer and husband Aaron of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; and her step-mother, Maxine Terrill of Marietta, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind an extraordinary family legacy of 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren ~ "Nannie, Nannie...We Love You!."
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Charles "Lyndall" Stewart Sr.; a loving son, Charles L. "Chuck" Stewart Jr.; her brother, Lonnie Terrill and sister, Teresa Terrill.
