Roberta Evelyn Byas, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in Duncan.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Southerland, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church West, of Duncan, officiating. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Roberta was born April 16, 1930, in Gas City, Oklahoma. She was married to JL Byas for 67 years, who survives her. She was a devoted wife and mother, and friend.
She retired from Halliburton Services in 1986. She was a member of The New Hope Baptist Church, West of Duncan.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, JL, of the home, include sons Jack Byas, and his wife, Peggy of Duncan; and Steve Byas, and his wife, Donna, of Norman; three grandchildren, Shelly Polk and her husband, Paul of Duncan; Jana Rannberg and her husband, Dustin of Duncan; and Jason Byas of Norman; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Polk of Duncan; Addison Rannberg of Duncan; and Christian Rannberg of Duncan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Kitchens and Ella Prater Kitchens Roach; brother Curtis Kitchens, and several friends and relatives.
Roberta enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and playing on her computer.
