Roger's Story

Roger Dale Headrick, 64, of Bedford, Texas passed away after a brief illness on February 12, 2018 in Bedford, Texas.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan with Rev. Reggie Creekmore officiating and special music provided by Keith Woods.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at the Don Grantham Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 16, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Roger Dale Headrick was born May 31, 1953 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Ernest and Margaret Headrick.  He  Roger went to elementary school at Woodrow Wilson, Duncan Junior High and graduated Duncan High School in 1971.  Roger was active in sports in Duncan and was a proud Duncan Demon. He attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Master's Degree in Business Administration.  Roger was a proud alumni of OSU and loved all things "Cowboys."  Roger was a Certified Public Accountant and practiced in Houston and Dallas Texas.  Roger married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Nancy Careathers in 1973, and they have been married for forty five years.  In 1978, they were blessed with their son, Michael Paul Headrick.  

Roger and Nancy were blessed again with a granddaughter Lillian Nicole in 1995 and she proudly named him "Ro"; after that, the name stuck and family members fondly referred to him as "Ro Ro."  Twenty one years later, Ro received multiple blessings with a grandson, Billy Lawton Headrick and a great granddaughter Ellinor Nicole Beach.  

Roger is survived by his beloved wife Nancy of the home, Michael Headrick, wife Candice and grandson Billy of Bedford, Texas, granddaughter, Lillian Headrick, fiancé Austin Beach and great granddaughter Ellinor of Bedford, his mother Margaret Headrick of Comanche, brother Dick Headrick and wife Ann of Duncan, and brother Tom Headrick and wife Dobie of Duncan.  Roger is also survived by his mother-in-law, Audie Newsome of Duncan, brother-in-law Kent Careathers and wife Debbie of Duncan, sister-in-law Sherry Labyer of Oklahoma City and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lawton Headrick, Jr. and father-in-law Billy Dean Careathers.

Serving as pallbearers are Ocie Bob Overstreet, Chris Stroud, Chris Headrick, Kevin Behrens, Shane Careathers, and Matthew Labyer; honorary pallbearers are Rick Helm and Ronnie Peters.
