Ronnie Ballard of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday July 2, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 73.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Duncan Municipal Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Ronnie was born on January 23, 1946 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Clarence and Irene Phillipneri Ballard. He married Algerine Tomlinson on September 15, 1979 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was the father to Dennis Wayne Ballard. They all preceded him in death.

Ronnie attended Empire High School and graduated in 1964. He attend college for two years. He served our country proudly as a Marine with two tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign medal and Combat Action Ribbon. Upon returning home he worked at Gibson's Discount Center and Halliburton Services. He taught firearm classes at the Armory in Duncan and was an avid marksman.

Ronnie loved his farm and taking care of his cattle. He loved his pets and especially his dog Blossom. Ronnie was a devoted to his family, friends and his country. He liked western movies and strawberry milk shakes.

Ronnie is survived by his granddaughter, Baylee Ballard of Midwest City, Oklahoma and a host of cousins, four nieces, neighbors and friends. He cherished the friendship, dedication and loyalty of Daniel Bailey and thought of him as a son.
