Ruth Jean Christian Loftie, 80, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born on November 11, 1936, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, to Rasby Tyson and Erie Dause Gosser. She passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
Family visitation will be on Tuesday, May 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the home of Debbie Nelson.
Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at the Velma Cemetery with Rev. Eugene Christian officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Ruth attended schools in Chicago, Illinois and Russell Springs, Kentucky. She married Lee Roy Christian on June 8, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1978. She later married Harold "Johnny" Loftie in September 1980. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1994.
Ruth owned and operated the 4 Corners Bar. She also had a gift shop and photo studio, Ruth's Gift Shop. She retired in 2004. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards and dominoes, and riding Harley-Davidsons. She loved her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth attended the Freedom Biker Church.
Ruth is survived by her children, Deborah and husband Billy Nelson of Duncan, Doug and wife Deborah Christian of Velma, Mike Christian of Duncan, Sam "Bo" and wife Debbie Christian of Healdton, Sandy Shafer of Wilson, and Chris Loftie of Duncan; 19 grandchildren, and 52 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lee Roy Christian and Harold "Johnny" Loftie; three grandchildren, Jesse Lee Acosta, Jeremy Michael Christian, and Brynlee Rae Christian; and two sisters, Adaline Johnson and Ollie Gentile.
The family would like to thank Aspire Hospice for the care they provided their mother.
