Shirley  LOVE


Shirley Hodge Love, 83, of Panama City, Florida, passed away October 27, 2018 in Panama City.
Shirley was married for 64 years to Robert Glendon Love who preceded her in death in October of 2017. They met at her parents home in Paris, Texas and were soon married there, and after a brief honeymoon they moved to the Bay Area in California as Bob boarded the Yorktown for Korea.
The two moved back to Oklahoma where Shirley worked and helped Bob study the books. From Stillwater, they arrived in Duncan where Bob worked for decades. Shirley had worked at Aranson's and then later opened Fashion Corner and the Duncan Arts Gift Shop.
The Loves moved to Arlington, Texas for Halliburton's computerized design and pre internet communications expansion.
After Bob retired, he and Shirley moved to a home on the bay in Panama City Florida. Shirley and Bob were adventurers, sailing seas and flying around the country in their private plane.
Shirley is remembered by many who met her for her winning smile, her sense of humor, her quilting and computerized embroidery talents, her gardening and by those who enjoyed her almond chocolate toffee as a delightful holiday treat.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Belinda , BJ Cosper and her son in law Steven Cosper of Parker, Colorado, and by her son Dr Rick Love and his wife Candace Love of Montgomery, Alabama and by her two grandchildren , Kirsten Marie Love and Robert Gannon Love.
Memorial Celebration of Life Service is planned for Barrancas National Cemetery at the Pensacola Naval Air Station where Bob was first stationed after basic training in the Navy. ( date to be announced ). NAS Pensacola is home to the National Naval Aviation Museum and NAS Pensacola NAS Whiting Field is home to the BLUE ANGELS.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a memorial gift to your church or synagogue, or a gift to the United Methodist Disaster Relief fund for Panama City.
