Ted R. Presley, longtime resident of Duncan, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 82.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Holden McKracken officiating, with cremation following under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Ted was born Jan. 11, 1935 in the Claude area to Hence P. Presley and Lucille Presley. He was raised in the Tussy/Countyline area and attended Fox schools until his junior year, graduating from Duncan. Ted worked in the oil field and also as a painting/dry wall contractor for R. G. Franklin, and later for himself. He faithfully attended Immanuel Baptist Church. Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing pool. He also enjoyed sports.
Ted is survived by his son Randy Welch and wife, Mitzi of Denver City, Texas: a brother, Jack J. Presley and wife, Barbara of Cortez, Colorado, a sister, Margaret Heath and husband, Jarrell of Duncan. Grandchildren: Brian Welch, Chance Welch, Nicki Shepherd and their spouses of Texas. He is also survived by five great grandchildren and five step-children. Ted is survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews of the surrounding area of which he enjoyed watching their sporting events, especially Lady Demons Softball.
Ted was preceded in death by his spouse, Judy and his parents, Hence P. Presley and Lucille Presley.
