Wayne Walker, 95, previously of Duncan, passed away Dec. 5, 2016, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Memorial service is at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at Carbondale Assembly of God Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Wayne was born Sept. 1, 1921, to James Monroe and Minnie Pearl Walker, of Thomas, Oklahoma. He graduated from Stafford High School in Cordell, Oklahoma. Wayne served in the US Navy during World War II as a Radio Operator on the aircraft carrier, USS Cape Esperance.
He married Blanche Crane on July 20, 1946, in Sayre, Oklahoma. They moved to Duncan in 1950 after his graduation from Southwestern State College, Weatherford, Oklahoma. Wayne was a chemical engineer for Halliburton Oil Well Services in Duncan retiring in 1979 after 29 years of service.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Blanche; children, Brenda (David) Kelly, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kay Wilkinson, of Springfield, Missouri , Ken (Reane) Walker of Kilgore, Texas, and Beth (Rick) Isham, of Jenks, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; six sisters; one daughter, Joann Ferrell and one great-granddaughter, Evie Reddick.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Wayne's honor may be made to Teen Challenge of Oklahoma.
