Wesley Eugene (Gene) Lynch, 88, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 in Duncan.
Gene was born on Easter Sunday March 31, 1929 in Empire, Oklahoma to Ida Mae (Green) and Claude Wesley Lynch. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1947.
Gene worked for Shell Oil Company for 3 years and then went to work for Halliburton Services for 30 years, retiring as an Audit Supervisor. After a short retirement, Gene managed apartments for 3 years, then owned and operated his real estate company, Lynch Realty for 20 years, retiring again at age 81.
Gene traveled for his employment and for pleasure, having visited all 50 states and about 40 foreign countries. He was an avid reader and probably had his share of good scotch whiskey and rib-eye steaks.
He was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his children, Allen Lynch and spouse Wanda of Mustang, Oklahoma, Cheryl Hosel and spouse Jim of Seabrook, Texas and Ellen Shannon and friend Gordon Revey of Parker, Colorado; his BEST friend, Sally Anderson of Duncan; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Earl Best; and a brother, Ed Lynch.
Per Gene's wishes his remains were donated so no visitation will be held. A memorial service will be at 1:30pm Tuesday November 14, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Duncan, Oklahoma with Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating.
