Finley "Mac"'s Story
Finley H. "Mac" McMurran, 79, longtime resident of Duncan passed away on Saturday, October 7th, 2017.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Burial, with full military honors will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
Mac was born March 31, 1938 in Ecorse, Michigan to Finley and Lucille McMurran. He served his country proudly, retiring after 21 years of service in the US Navy and Army. And subsequently, retired from the City of Duncan.
Mac was active in the Duncan community and a member of the Duncan Antique Car Club, VFW, American Legion, AMVETS, and AMBUCS.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents Lucille and Finley McMurran, two brothers; James and Robert McMurran, and two sisters: Judy branicki and Carol Maliszewski.
Mac is survived by his wife Addie McMurran of the home. Two children; Julie Gilby and husband Kelly of Velma, OK and Scott McMurran and wife DeAnna of Duncan, OK, and Dawn Richardson and her daughter Rebecca Vess of Southern Pines, NC. One brother Ronald G. McMurran of St. Louis, MO, two sisters Joanne Pettit and Darlene Bolton both of Detroit, MI. Four grandchildren Laura Layn and husband Zackary, Kell Garrett Gilby, Alison McMurran, Anna Kate McMurran and a host of other family and close friends.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Rue, Sean Hurley, Leonard Case, Leon Farris, Randy Atnip and Kelly Boice.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Members of the Duncan Antique Car Club.
