Duncan - Anthony Edward Giroux, Jr. was born Sept. 16, 1944 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Anthony (Tony) Giroux and Neva Lee (Lowe) Giroux. He passed from this life on June 24, 2025.

"Eddie," as his friends and family knew him, was a lifelong resident of Duncan, Oklahoma, only living in Texas next to his brother due to declining health in his last years.

He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Duncan through the eighth grade, then graduated from Duncan High School in 1962.

He attended Oklahoma State University school of Technical Training in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, graduating in December 1965.

He briefly worked for Halliburton Services in Lafayette, Louisiana, before returning to Duncan and working for the Street department for the City of Duncan, starting in 1967 until his retirement in 2006.

Eddie married Karen Sue (Grimm) Sept. 12, 1992, at Assumption Catholic Church in Duncan. They made their home in Duncan until Karen's passing April 12, 2018.

Eddie's favorite hobby was flying. He obtained his private pilot license in 1974. He flew as often as he could afford to and kept up with changes in aviation.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Karen.

He is survived by his brother Richard (Dick) Giroux of Bellville, Texas; nephew Dawayne Giroux; niece Tamara (Tammi) Rainwater and her husband Chris and her three sons: Reid, Scout, and Wyatt.

Services have been entrusted to Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Service will take place at 10 a.m. July 1 at Assumption Catholic Church, with interment to immediately follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Karen.
