Velma - Graveside Memorial Services for Mrs. Barbara Nell (Brines) Lumbert, 76 of Pearsall, TX are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, May 22, 2017, at New Velma Cemetery with Bob Waitman officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander-Gray Chapel in Velma.

Barbara was born on Sept. 26, 1940, in Duncan, OK to Mr. Eddie Brines and the late Mrs. Mary Margaret (Brown) Brines. She departed from this life on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in San Antonio, TX.

Barbara was raised by her grandmother Sarah Jane Brown in Duncan where she attended Lee School. She married the love of her life, Levi Lumbert on Aug. 12, 1957, in Henrietta, TX. God blessed her with a special needs child, Darrell. She took this responsibility seriously, devoted her life to him and all her family. She often said, her children were her life. Barbara worked for Wal-Mart in Duncan before transferring to Pearsall, TX where she retired. She prepared every holiday meal for her family from scratch and insisted her grandson Scott to say Grace. Barbara was a loving wife, doting mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and friend. She was extremely proud of her Choctaw Heritage, doing yard work and listening to music. Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pearsall, TX.

Preceding her in death is her mother, Mary Brines and granddaughter Lindsey.

Barbara is survived by her husband Levi of the home, children, Darrell Lumbert of the home, Deborah Lumbert of San Antonio, TX, David Lumbert of Pearsall, TX and Danny Lumbert of Port Lavaca, TX; father, Eddie Brines of Lawton; grandchildren Scott, Alicia and her husband Robert and great grandchildren, Mallory, Desiree, Maddie, Dallas and Dylan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
