Betty was born July 26, 1937, in Red Oak, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Charlie Bench and Mrs. Danner (Stephens) Bench. She departed this life Nov. 7, 2025, in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Betty's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of her hometown, Clayton, Oklahoma, before she moved to Countyline to be with her sisters. On March 11, 1957, Betty embarked on a beautiful journey of love when she married Mr. Stevie Eldon Cox, Sr. Together they built a life filled with warmth and family until Stevie's passing on Nov. 11, 2000. Betty dedicated nearly a decade of her life to working in housekeeping at local nursing homes, including Ringling, Healdton and Wilson Nursing Home, where she provided care and support to others. Her compassionate nature was evident in every aspect of her life, particularly in her devotion to her family. A passionate gardener, Betty found joy in nurturing both her plants and her loved ones. She had a particular knack for canning, often delighting her family with homemade plum jelly. Cooking and baking were her great loves; her signature hot rolls and cinnamon rolls were legendary among family and friends. Most notably, Betty cherished her time with her grandkids and great grandkids, creating countless memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Charlie and Danner; husband, Stevie; siblings, Starley Loftis, Faye Mullins, Violet White, Ray Bench, Odell Bench and Fred Bench; granddaughter, Ashley Cox; and great-granddaughter, Paiten Bench.

Survivors include her sons, Rickey Bowman and wife Virginia of Velma, Stevie Cox, Jr. and wife Robin of Velma, and Clayton Cox of Duncan; sister, Pauline Groggins and husband Kenneth of Wilburton; grandchildren, Rickey Bowman and wife Brooke, Stacey Bowman and wife Kristen, Jennifer Bowman and significant other Reggie, Laura Bench, Robbie King and husband A.J., and Amber Cox; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be A.J. King, Rickey Bowman, Jr., Dean Parkhurst, Jason Bench, Tyler Bowman and Bobby Southerland.

Honorary bearers are Stacey Bowman, Keegan Bench and Haiden Lopez.
