Clarence E. "Jack" Gore, a lifelong resident of this community, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Lawton-Fort Sill Veterans Home. He was 88 years old. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Randy Southerland officiating. Interment, will military honors provided by the Stephens Country Combined Honor Guard, will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.
Jack was born November 9, 1933 in Comanche to Clarence and Orentha (Rice) Gore. After high school Jack joined the U.S. Army. On April 24, 1957 he and Maxine Estes were united in marriage in Duncan. He was an expert brick mason. Jack layed the bricks for the Veterans Memorial l at Fairlawn Cemetery, and he also bricked in a cross at Addington where a tank exploded from and firefighters lost their lives. He was a hardworking man, who was very dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
Jack is survived by his two daughters: Stacey Tuner and husband John, McKinney, TX; and Debra Woods and husband Joe, Tuttle, OK; his three grandchildren: Ryan Goodgion and wife Kristen; Rustin Goodgion and wife Audrey; and Kaleb Broden; three great-greandchildren: Nikki Goodgion, Gage Goodgion, and Olivia Goodgion; one sister, Jo Matthews, Duncan, OK; a brother in law, Bob Ivester and wife Sonya; three nephews: Mark Matthews, Shane Ivester, and Shawn Ivester; and Faye Laminack, his companion for the past fourteen years; also numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Orentha; his wife Maxine Gore; a brother, Dean Gore; a sister in law Naomi Ivester; and a brother in law Russell Mathews.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Butler, Tim Garlinger, Justin Harkins, Robert Gilmore. Honorary bearers will be Billy Bob Deaton, Bob Bowden, Don Shipman, and Bob Ivester.
