Claudia Anne  (Wininger) Durant
Claudia Anne (Wininger) Durant passed away peacefully after a long illness on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 10:30 am at the Duncan Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Pain officiating and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, September 9, between 5:30 and 7 pm.
Anne was born in Duncan on March 6, 1953 to Weldon and Foy Wininger. She was a 1971 graduate of Duncan High School and attended Cameron University. Anne worked for many years for Dr. John Young, the Texas Juvenile Prison System and Pre-Paid Legal.
Anne was a member of First Baptist Church Duncan. Anne was a T.V. history buff and a lover of rescue dogs, of which she owned four.
Survivors include her spouse John Ware of the home, daughter Crystal Anne Durant of Burkburnett, Texas, grandson Gunnar Bilyeu of Texas, brother and sister-in-law Floyd and Patty Wininger, Duncan, and niece Emily Wininger Callahan of Memphis, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Aaron Wayne Bethany, grandparents Claude and Lucille Wininger, and Otis and Stella Bernard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Stephens County Humane Society P. O. Box 669 Duncan, Ok. 73534 or to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 901 W. Ash, Duncan, Ok. 73533.
