David Bradley "Brad" Shepherd Obituary

David Bradley "Brad" Shepherd was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on December 3, 1955, to Danny Ray and Kaye Raylene (Thurman) Shepherd. He passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at his home in Duncan at the age of 67.


Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 5, at 10:30 A.M. at New Hope Baptist Church West with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. A livestream of the service will be available for viewing at www.youtube.com/NewHopeDuncan. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Fiorillo, Mickey Pruitt, Chuck Seiss, K.D. Eason, Corey Nicholas and Carey Nicholas. Honorary pallbearers are Kent Sullivan, Ronnie Craig and Ron Corley. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.


Brad graduated from Sterling (OK) High School with the Class of 1974. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1978 with Bachelor's degrees in both Agriculture Economics and Accounting. While in school, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. Upon graduation from OSU, he started his accounting career with Halliburton. In 1980, he opened his public accounting practice with Bill Ashworth as his partner. In 1982, his brother Greg joined the partnership. Upon the retirement of Bill Ashworth in 1999, Brad and Greg formed Shepherd and Shepherd, CPAs, which still exists today.


He married the love of his life, Brenda "Bebe" Ann Eason, on December 19, 1987 in Duncan. They were married 34 years before her passing in January 2022.


Brad enjoyed going on golfing, hunting and fishing trips. He was an avid OSU football and Thunder basketball fan. He also enjoyed spending time at his lake house at Grand Lake with his family and friends.


He was preceded in death by his wife, "Bebe"; parents, Dan and Raylene Shepherd; and mother- and father-in-law, Jean and Kenneth Eason. Brad is survived by his brother, Greg Shepherd and wife Tenna of Duncan; sister, Danette Shepherd of Desert Hot Springs, California; aunts: Madelyn Patton of El Reno, Oklahoma and Judy Nicholas of Stillwater, Oklahoma; brothers- and sisters-in-law: KD and Caren Eason of Velma, Dwayne Eason of Davis, and Gaylin Langhofer of Wichita, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
