David Lee Green Obituary

David Lee Green, 67, of Duncan, has not taken his final checkered flag, he took the green flag, on pole in the car of his dreams in heaven on Sunday Sept. 25, 2016 in the comfort of his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1949 in Amarillo, Texas, then grew up and attended school in Tulia, Texas. He lived

throughout the Texas panhandle and Oklahoma where he worked on the family farm and was an over-the-road truck driver after his service in the U.S. Navy.

In his younger days, his passion was racing stock cars on the dirt tracks of Texas and Oklahoma. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. He rarely missed watching a race, and had his dream fulfilled of attending a live race, joining his family at the Texas Motor Speedway. His love of racing extended to RC cars in his later years where

he also repaired them and sold parts to the local RC community.

His love of cars and racing was only surpassed by his love for his family.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Green and his brother Pat Green both of Duncan; his son, Michael Byram and wife Anita, of Odessa, Texas; his daughter, Dee Dee Morris and husband John, of Okeechobee, Florida; his daughter, Toni

Moody and husband Milton, of Ft. Worth, Texas; 17

grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two nieces, a nephew and many extended family members who will remember him by his infectious smile, boisterous laugh, love of pranks and gift of storytelling.

He is preceded in death by his father Ralph Green.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 1, 2016 at the Marlow Cemetery with Rev. David Morrow officiating. A family gathering to celebrate his life will follow the service.
